Hi John, thanks for your message. Both pancakes, the "Classic" and the "Retro" can be attached to the camera's bayonet. The difference is, that the "Classic" version is installed into an adapter, while the "Retro" version attaches directly without the adapter. Juergen

I understand this retro pancake can be mounted directly on the camera (NIKON)
The classic can not mounted on the nikon bajonet?
